I am is actively seeking spaces, organizations, and mechanisms to advance core pillars of my academic philosophies and concentrations. This includes, but is not limited to, DEI in higher education, academic freedom and dignity, interpersonal relationships, and student wellness - especially sex education and resources. If you are involved in a student or campus organization that aligns with these topics, please reach out at morgan.cope@centre.edu.

This year, members of the Centre Feminist Executive Board presented The Costs of Cramping, an interactive symposium that guided students through a discussion about the realities of menstruation locally and globally. Soliela Elliot Gonzalez and Badireddi (featured on the left) achieved a new level of engagement with a diverse audience, encouraging them to consider the physical, psychological, and social circumstances under which people experience menstruation today. Amazing work!
In an era of misinformation and censorship, libraries take on new meaning. They are the holders of history and guardians of free thought. As they face book challenges and attempts to rewrite our collective conscious, we must work to preserve their integrity through active advocacy. This is why I have taken on the role of the 2024 Division III representative for the Grace Doherty Library on campus. Special shoutout to the current art exhibit Unseen Labor showcasing cross stitch work by catalogers across the nation.
Originally founded with the help of Psychology Faculty Emeritus Dr. Mykol Hamilton, the QFSC supports student organizations, offers professional development and training for campus groups, and advocates for inclusive policies at Centre College. Read more about LBGTQIA+ resources on campus here.

The theme of FGSA's annual publication for the 23-24 academic year was The Screaming 20's. An homage to the beloved Roaring 20's of the 20th century, the current issues focuses on recycled feminist issues and anger appearing again in today's society. From bodily autonomy to gender roles and fear, this annual publication is a beautiful compilation from a diverse group of FAU feminists. In addition to the pub, the Screaming 20's served as the theme for the FGSA's Spring Conference held in April 2024. A special thank you to Dr. Nicole Morse, the FGSA's advisor, for making this all possible!
Public Discourse and Difficult Conversations: A Symposium on Abortion
On November 14th, FGSA hosted a highly successful day-long symposium on reproductive rights. The events started with group workshops led my the executive team on topics from the cognitive structures of beliefs and attitudes to techniques for forming evidence-based arguments in civil discourse. Next, attendees heard from Rabbi Barry Silver, a religious and political figure bringing legal action against the state of Florida for unconstitutional restrictions to healthcare. Finally, the National Organization for Women (NOW) and Emergency Medial Assistance (EMA) informed attendees on local healthcare resources in the South Florida area. Overall, FGSA executed an enlightening, graceful, and supportive event on civil discourse on the topic of abortion with an emphasis on critical perspective taking, self-reflection, and respect for others. Thank you to all attendees, speakers, and FGSA members for your presence and contributions!
